Torrential rain in New Mexico led to unprecedented and historic flooding in the community of Ruidoso on Tuesday, leading to the deaths of at least three people, including two children, as well as dozens of swift water rescues.
The Village of Ruidoso in New Mexico confirmed that three people, including a 4-year-old girl, 7-year-old boy and man in his 40s-50s, were killed in flash floods that occurred on Tuesday, July 8.
July 9 (UPI) -- Three people have died in a flash flood in New Mexico, including two children, city officials announced. The floods happened Tuesday afternoon in the village Ruidoso, N.M., of 7,600 people, which is situated in the Sierra Blanca mountain range.
No injuries or deaths are immediately reported, but officials say an unknown number of people are unaccounted for
Meanwhile the Texas Hill Country region, reeling after from last week’s flooding, sees the death toll rise to 111.
