An alligator killed a Florida woman after tipping over a canoe she and her husband were paddling, investigators said.

Cynthia Diekema, 61, was killed after the canoe she was riding in with her husband drifted over a large alligator, Florida officials said.

The woman was paddling with her husband in shallow water on Tuesday when they passed over a large alligator that thrashed and tipped over their boat, the authorities said.
