Cambodia border despite Trump’s claim that a fresh ceasefire had been agreed, with Bangkok insisting there is no halt in military operations.

The escalation broke the ceasefire brokered in July by Trump who threatened to halt trade talks with the two countries unless they ended the fight.

The dispute dates back to 1907, when the two nations’ borders were established following the French occupation of Cambodia, a period that Thailand contends is inaccurate.​ The map was based on an agreement that the border would be demarcated along the natural watershed line between the two nations.
