Former NBA player and coach Damon Jones, a Galveston-native who played for Houston in college, is among the dozens of people charged in connection with a federal investigation.
Jones, 49, briefly played for Mavericks, appearing in 42 games with the franchise during the 1999-2000 season.
Jones, 49, played in NBA for 10 teams spanning 11 seasons from 1998-2009, spending no more than three years with any team after going undrafted out of Houston.
Damon Jones is among the defendants in a rigged poker scheme and a federal prosecutor said Chauncey Billups was among those who played in the rigged games.
