The Astros have signed Craig Kimbrel to a major league contract, and the veteran reliever reported to the team in Baltimore on Friday.

The Houston Astros have confirmed the signing of veteran closer Craig Kimbrel, strengthening their bullpen as they head toward the MLB postseason. The move comes after Josh Hader was sidelined with a shoulder injury, leaving Bryan Abreu to step into the closer role.

Lance McCullers Jr. has been on the injured list since July 22 with a blister on his finger but will return to pitch against the Orioles.
