Kingda Ka‘s 20-year run at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson ended swiftly this morning when the roller coaster was imploded. Video shows the 456-foot coaster tumbling to the ground in a little more than five seconds. Officials warned locals that they would hear a series of rapid explosions as crews imploded the structure.

Kingda Ka, once the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the world, is now a pile of rubble after it was imploded at New Jersey's Six Flags Great Adventure on Friday morning. The implosion happened ahead of schedule at the park in Jackson Township.

After Kingda Ka at Great Adventure was imploded on Friday, we spoke with one fan of the coaster who drove 45 minutes to watch it come down but was minutes too late.
