Two buildings were damaged in a fire in Lynn on Friday night. Firefighters said a three-story residential building on Estes Street and a church on Chestnut Street had extensive damage and floors collapsed.

The Lynn Fire Department and other North Shore crews worked all night to contain a multi-building fire that destroyed a church and sent at least six people out into the cold.

The Herald’s contributor who mans the scanners was on scene at a five-alarm blaze tonight in Lynn where buildings have been gutted.
