With her fourth career Olympic medal, Mikaela Shiffrin tied Julia Mancuso for most by a U.S. woman in Alpine skiing.

The “Snow Tiger,” Federica Brignone, pounced to an early lead in the women’s giant slalom and held on late to win her second gold medal of the Games. Sara Hector of Sweden and Thea Louise Stjernesund of Norway shared silver.

The U.S. and Canada are moving on to the men’s hockey semifinals at the Olympics. Each needed extra time to get through the quarterfinals.
