LOS ANGELES — Major League Baseball suspended Atlanta Braves outfielder Jurickson Profar on Monday after he tested positive for the performance-enhancing substance human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). It’s a fertility drug often taken after steroids, and it’s the same drug that Manny Ramirez was suspended 50 games for using in 2009.

The Atlanta Braves signed Jurickson Profar to a three-year, $42 million deal in the offseason. However, he has reportedly tested positive for chorionic gonadotrophin, according to The Associated Press' Beth Harris.

Jurickson Profar has been suspended 80 games for PEDs. Reynaldo Lopez went on the IL with a shoulder injury. Colton Cowser is out 6-8 weeks with a fractured thumb. Freddie Freeman re-aggravated his ankle injury.
