While the weekend forecast calls for sunny skies at the Jersey Shore, rough surf conditions and life-threatening rip currents are expected to persist.

On Saturday at 8:04 p.m. the National Weather Service released a rip current statement valid for Sunday between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. for Essex, Plymouth, Bristol, Barnstable, Dukes and Nantucket counties.
