Nearly one million Arizonans depend on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to help put food on the table. With those benefits delayed, Valley volunteers wasted no time stepping in.

Charitable organizations called upon Arizona residents to consider making food donations as SNAP benefits are potentially about to be cut off.

Members who receive meals at a Phoenix nonprofit said they will be relying on them heavily as Nov. 1 approaches— a date when cuts to SNAP benefits are possible due to the government shutdown. FOX 10's Lindsey Ragas has more.
