The Auburn Undercover team just revealed its top Auburn coaching candidates after Hugh Freeze was fired on Nov. 2

While the transition from legendary head coach Nick Saban to Kalen DeBoer hasn’t been without its bumps, the program in Tuscaloosa appears to have its guy. Alabama is 7-1 this season, including a 5-0 record against SEC opponents.

Auburn fired coach Hugh Freeze Sunday after his team's lifeless 10-3 loss to Kentucky at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday night. The loss dropped the Tigers to 4-5 overall and 1-5 in SEC play. Freeze ends his two-plus seasons on the Plains with a record 15-19 overall, 6-16 in the SEC, and 0-2 in games against Alabama.

On Sunday, the Auburn athletics department named defensive coordinator DJ Durkin interim head coach. Durkin has two years of head-coaching experience at Maryland, where he was fired after investigations into the death of a player and the program’s culture.

Three of the Crimson Tide's final four games are at Bryant-Denny Stadium: LSU on Saturday, Nov. 8, Oklahoma on Saturday, Nov. 15 and Eastern Illinois on Saturday, Nov. 22. Alabama's final regular-season home game comes against Auburn on Saturday, Nov. 29: 156 miles away and within state lines.

On the flipside, Auburn's offense gained 241 yards, 123 through the air and 118 yards on the ground. Quarterback Ashton Daniels passed for 108 yards and threw an interception to end the game. Jackson Arnold played two drives in the 4th quarter, where he completed 2-of-3 passes for 15 yards.
