LAFAYETTE PARISH, La. — Three people from the Houston area were killed in a plane crash on Tuesday. The plane took off from Hooks Airport just before 10 a.m. Around 11 a.m., according to Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office officials said the plane went down in an open field. Witnesses said the plane lost altitude and circled before going down.

Two people died Sunday when a small plane crashed at Erie Municipal Airport in northern Colorado, according to the police department.
