Snow emergencies in central Ohio for February 23, 2026
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Snow has reared its head again in central Ohio on Sunday afternoon and into Monday morning. Consistent snowfall across the region has forced multiple county sheriff’s offices to declare snow emergencies.
Early snowfall totals from the National Weather Service show parts of central Ohio got about a foot of snow from Winter Storm Fern.
The main storm system will impact the East Coast and New England through the weekend, but will pull enough moisture into Ohio on Sunday, leading to scattered snow showers across the state. While most of the snow will be on the light side, there could be a few snow squalls that produce some heavier bursts and drop visibility briefly.
Even as snow from last month’s major winter storm remains scattered across the city, New Haven is now bracing for up to 20 inches more — plus wind gusts of up to 60 miles per hour — thanks to a blizzard set to hit Sunday afternoon.
