While the bulk of the group heads to the Upside Down’s version of the WSQK radio tower, Hopper and Eleven have their own mission. She’s going to face down Vecna on her own, using one of the Hawkins Research Lab tank in the Upside Down.
The Stranger Things Season 5 finale, Episode 8, is called The Rightside Up, and has an official runtime of 2 hours 8 minutes. It will be screened in theaters nationwide at the same time it is shown on Netflix. Ross Duffer has told fans they should only see it in theaters if they’re cool with crying in a crowded room.
Elsewhere, Will Byers ( Noah Schnapp) was finally willing to put himself on the front lines of the fight, thanks to his newfound ability to tap into the hive mind and turn the tables on Vecna. Is Stranger Things ultimately the story of Will’s sacrifice? Does Will die?
David Harbour makes some excellent points as to why he and the Duffer Brothers created such a different/unique character for Hopper from this film. This gives the viewers an excellent view into how influential the film was on the creation of Hopper's character.
