HAWTHORNE — An investigation was underway Saturday into the shooting death of a man in Hawthorne. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the shooting was reported at 3:18 a.m. Friday at West 118th Street and Prairie Avenue. LASD homicide detectives were assisting Hawthorne police with the investigation.

Police are searching for a suspect after a man was found shot to death in Hawthorne. On Oct. 15, Hawthorne police responded to the 14100 block of Doty Avenue around 2:13 a.m. Officers found the male victim suffering from gunshot wounds.

One man was killed and another injured in separate shootings in Hawthorne; police detained a person with a firearm.
