How to Change the Leading in Word Documents. No matter what line of work you're in, knowing how to change the leading, or line spacing, of documents in Microsoft Word can be quite useful.
Older versions of Word buried line-spacing settings inside formatting menus, but in Word 2007 and 2010, they're hiding in plain sight.
If you need to remove extra white double-spaces between words or paragraphs in Word, then follow the steps laid down in this post.
Click the "Home" tab in the top navigation ribbon, and then click "Line Spacing" in the Paragraph section. Click the "Single Space" icon to change the selected text to single space.
You can double space in Word for an entire document or selected paragraphs to increase the amount of space between your lines of text.
