The foreign ministers of Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Iceland, Japan, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and the U.K. released a joint statement on Wednesday pushing back on Israel's announcement that it will suspend the operations of 37 humanitarian organizations operating in Gaza and the West Bank on Jan. 1.

Sporadic clashes between the Israel Defense Forces and Gaza militants -- plus deadly IDF strikes -- continue despite the Gaza ceasefire.

The ceasefire in the deadliest war ever fought between Israel and Hamas took effect on Oct. 10. The first phase focused on the return of all remaining hostages in exchange for the release of hundreds of Palestinian detainees, along with a surge in humanitarian aid and a partial withdrawal of Israeli forces in Gaza.
