Kentucky basketball vs Georgetown live updates: Score and highlights
The Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball team plays in the second of their two scheduled exhibition games on Thursday night. After taking down Purdue in their opener last week, they'll face off this week against Georgetown in their last warm-up for the regular season.
Georgetown played at Rupp Arena in the legendary 1985 NCAA Tournament National Championship, when the Hoyas were upset by the No. 8 seed Villanova Wildcats. That game is one of the most significant in NCAA Tournament and College Basketball history.
So Lee K. Howard, WKYT’s sports director and anchor Kristen Kennedy’s husband, took their kids out of school to watch the team work at Rupp. Lee K said at the end of practice, Coach Pope picked two kids to come onto the floor to try to make a basket. If they did, the players wouldn’t have to run lines.
UK basketball guard Denzel Aberdeen is out for Mark Pope’s team as Kentucky plays Georgetown University in exhibition. UK is also without Jaland Lowe for game.
