(Dakota News Now) - North Dakota State quarterback Cole Payton rushed for four touchdowns and racked up 380 yards of total offense to lead the top-ranked Bison to a 38-7 victory over South Dakota State in the annual Dakota Marker game before a Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium record crowd of 19,477 Saturday night.
BROOKINGS, S.D. (NDSU Athletics)- Quarterback Cole Payton had 380 total yards and four touchdowns to lead No. 1-ranked North Dakota State to a 38-7 victory over No. 2-ranked South Dakota State in the 22nd annual Dakota Marker game Saturday, Oct. 25, before a record crowd of 19,477 at Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium.
Payton was named the Missouri Valley Football Conference offensive player of the week after accumulating 291 yards of total offense in the win over SIU. He was 13 of 16 passing for 243 yards and a touchdown while running for 48 yards and two more touchdowns. It was his second Valley award in the last three weeks.
