Julian Sayin passed for 316 yards and four touchdowns, Jeremiah Smith scored twice and top-ranked Ohio State pulled away in the second half to defeat Penn State 38-14 Saturday. The Buckeyes (8-0, 5-0 Big Ten) had a 17-14 lead at halftime, but took control in the second half, scoring on three of their first four possessions.

The top-ranked Buckeyes retaliated with a vicious second half, punctuated by a Jeremiah Smith touchdown that established the one-page for Penn State's season. Ohio State's 38-14 win over Penn State, its ninth straight in the series, seemed inevitable and yet still overwhelmingly dominant, particularly in the second half.

This time it went to Jeremiah Smith, who moved Ohio State from its own 22-yard line to the Penn State 21-yard line with his 57-yard catch. Sayin then finished the drive with a 1-yard touchdown pass to Bennett Christian to make it a 31-14 lead with 3:21 left in the third quarter.
