Survivors and families of the victims of a deadly train crash in southern Mexico are demanding answers as the government vows to investigate what caused a train to derail on a rail line connecting the Pacific Ocean with the Gulf of Mexico.

SANDPOINT, Idaho – A fatal crash involving a vehicle and a train north of Sandpoint claimed the life of a local man. According to the Idaho State Police, the collision occurred on December 28, 2025, at around 2 p.m. The accident happened at the intersection of West Selle Road and North Boyer Road.
