The Miami Hurricanes face the SMU Mustangs in their first of three road games during the next five weeks with ACC and College Football Playoff hopes on the line.

SMU’s second time around in the Atlantic Coast Conference already has a blemish, one that is still fresh while the Mustangs get ready to face 10th-ranked Miami for the first time as a league opponent.

The game is just Miami’s second road game of the year and will mark the first time the Hurricanes leave the state of Florida. Their only other road game to this point was their 29-22 win over the Florida State Seminoles on Oct. 4. UM only has two other road games after SMU: Nov. 22 at Virginia Tech and Nov. 29 at Pittsburgh.

Wake Forest ranks in the bottom half of the country in points per game (26.7 points, 76th) and total yards of offense per game (394.3 yards, 65th). The Demon Deacons do have a pair of playmakers that Florida State will need to keep in check, running back Demond Claiborne and wide receiver Chris Barnes.
