The national average price for a gallon of gasoline is $3.14 as of Monday, July 7, down five cents from last Monday.

According to AAA 61.6 million Americans will have traveled domestically by car, and that’s up 2.2 percent from last year’s Fourth of july weekend, setting a record for highest volume. And by plane 5.84 million are expected to board and that’s a 1.4 percent increase.

AAA is forecasting record-setting travel for the Fourth of July weekend, with 72.2 million Americans expected to travel domestically.
