The Jacksonville Jaguars are reportedly interviewing Carolina Panthers passing game coordinator Jonathan Cooley, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. The Jaguars are moving fast when it comes to filling the defensive coordinator opening.
The Rams are losing an assistant on the defensive side of the ball with the Panthers hiring AC Carter as their OLBs coach
Wilks, who replaces Jeff Ulbrich as the Jets’ defensive coordinator, also has head coaching experience. He was Arizona’s coach in 2018 and was fired after the Cardinals finished 3-13. Wilks also was Carolina’s interim coach when he replaced the fired Matt Rhule in 2022 and went 6-6 with the Panthers.
Steve Wilks has agreed to terms to be the New York Jets' defensive coordinator under new head coach Aaron Glenn, multiple media outlets reported Wednesday night.
Glenn was hired as the next head coach of the Jets earlier this month after a four-year run as the Detroit Lions’ defensive coordinator. The Jets fired head coach Robert Saleh in the middle of last season. Glenn said earlier this week that he will not call defensive plays, so that will presumably fall to Wilks.
Aaron Glenn told everyone to put their seatbelts on during his press conference. Now, we are beginning to find out who is driving the Jets bus with him.
