The Seattle Seahawks are bringing in a notable name as their new offensive coordinator. The Seahawks are hiring Klint Kubiak as their new offensive coordinator, the team confirmed Sunday. Kubiak spent last season in the same role with the New Orleans Saints.

Klint Kubiak, who has previously served as offensive coordinator of the Vikings and Saints, has been hired to serve in the same role for the Seahawks.

That's wild considering it hasn't snowed in New Orleans since 2009, and their last "big" snowstorm was in 2008 when 1-2 inches fell. Up to five inches of snow could accumulate in the Houston area. The all-time record snowfall in Houston is 3.0 inches, so this is very clearly a historic situation.

As bitter cold grips much of the country, there is also a rare big winter storm that is expected to impact much of the Gulf Coast region.

While locations 1,200 to 1,500 miles away are getting pummeled with a historic winter blast, Minnesota remains cold and dry — and there's no sign of significant snow in the forecast. That said, there are some hints that a more active February is in store for Minnesota.
