More special elections are being set in Virginia’s legislature as a growing number of Democratic lawmakers depart the House of Delegates to join the incoming administration of Gov.-elect Abigail Spanberger or pursue higher office.

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Virginia’s State Board of Elections has certified the results of the 2025 General Election. On Monday, Dec. 1, the Virginia Department of Elections announced on social media that the votes for the November General Election were certified.

Supervisor Margaret Angela Franklin (D-Woodbridge) is running for the 23rd House District, which includes parts of Prince William and Stafford counties. The incumbent, Del.
