A band of snow in excess of 2 feet fell from the coastal region of central New Jersey northeastward across southeast Massachusetts — parts of New York, Connecticut and Rhode Island also observed 2-foot-plus totals. At least 40 reports of 30 inches or more were sent to the National Weather Service.
With snowfall totals piling up quickly in Rhode Island, it looks like this storm could be one for the record books.

More than three feet of snow was reported in Rhode Island. Reports from Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Connecticut and New Jersey showed more than 30 inches of snow had fallen in some towns.
