After three failed attempts to sign the striker, Newcastle United will finally come up against Hugo Ekitike on Monday night.
Eddie Howe’s future at Newcastle United is secure for the foreseeable future, with his current contract still having multiple years to run, according to The Athletic’s Chris Waugh. Waugh confirmed the publicly known deal signed by Howe when then-sporting director Dan Ashworth was still working for the club in the summer of 2022.
Isak, valued at closer to £150m by Newcastle, broke his silence on Tuesday evening when he released an explosive statement on Instagram, announcing that he “can’t continue” with the Magpies after accusing the club of "broken promises".
Howe has had to deal with the club being unable to land a number of his main transfer targets so far, such as Hugo Ekitike, Bryan Mbeumo, James Trafford and Liam Delap, while star man Alexander Isak desperately wants out, and so keeping Livramento would serve as a big boost in the face of numerous setbacks.
