Report card: Jets' first win in 39-38 game vs. Bengals
It was an emotional day for the Jets after the passing of Nick Mangold. They used it as fuel to get Aaron Glenn his first win of the season, grades here.
The Jets finally got off the schneid. After losing his first seven games, Aaron Glenn got his first victory as coach and the Jets (1-7) defeated the Bengals (3-5) at Paycor Stadium.
Breece Hall ran for two touchdowns and threw the winning TD pass as New York erased a 15-point deficit late to win 39-38 on Sunday.
The Cincinnati Bengals allowed 23 fourth-quarter points in their 39-38, Week 8 loss to the previously winless New York Jets at Paycor Stadium to fall to 3-5 this season. The Cincinnati defense failed to protect a 31-16 lead, and couldn't stop Justin Fields and the Jets from moving the ball at will. The Jets improved to 1-7.
The Jets’ offense had scored a grand total of 17 points in their last two games. Yes, they had shown promise running the ball against the Bengals, but without their top two receivers it was inconceivable they’d have the firepower to catch, let alone pass, the Bengals in the fourth quarter.
