Ruben Amorim has said that Manchester United “need to improve recruitment” and maintained he wants Kobbie Mainoo to stay at the club. Amorim, 39, said that United need to target players who can deal with the demands that come with playing at Old Trafford while adding that the club’s intentions are to maintain their best academy talents.

Ruben Amorim insisted he wants to hang on to Kobbie Mainoo amid speculation Manchester United are willing to offload the teenage midfielder this month. Mainoo still has two-and-a-half years left to run on his contract but United have little wiggle room to buy players in the January transfer window because of profit and sustainability (PSR) regulations.
