Scottie Scheffler erased a four-shot deficit in five holes and then delivered a haymaker on the daunting par-3 17th by chipping in from 82 feet for birdie that carried him to victory Sunday in the BMW Championship for his fifth PGA Tour title of the year.

The evidence has been building. We know the Scottie Scheffler effect is real. However, it is abundantly clear now that Scheffler, who on Sunday won his 18th PGA Tour event at the BMW Championship, can intimidate a field just with his presence on the final round leaderboard.

The BMW marked Scottie’s fifth win of the season (he had 7 last year, but he does have two major titles this year which feels like the difference-maker in this author’s opinion) and now officially has two seasons with five or more victories. Simply put, it is his world and we are all living in it.
