Around 50 people rescued from flooding along Jersey Shore Overnight, about 50 people were rescued along the Jersey Shore due to flooding brought on by Hurricane Erin, according to the Margate Fire Department. Around 16 people were rescued from their vehicles, while 34 people were saved from two flooded restaurants.

The former Hurricane Erin headed out to sea and became a non-tropical system on Friday, but the National Hurricane Center continued to track two other systems on Saturday in the Atlantic. One of them could become Tropical Storm Fernand soon. As of Saturday morning that system was located about 500 miles south-southeast of Bermuda.

The system could strengthen into a hurricane and may impact Bermuda, while Hurricane Erin continues to create dangerous swimming conditions at the Jersey Shore

An updated storm surge warning was issued by the NWS Newport/Morehead City NC on Thursday at 10:48 a.m. in effect until 7 p.m. for Northern Outer Banks.

Hurricane Erin continued to track away from the United States on Friday, and attention is turning to two other potential storms in the Atlantic Ocean.
