Florida football coach Billy Napier discussed play calling and UF's General Manager search during Wednesday's NSD press conference

Billy Napier’s passing offenses have never rated better than seventh in the SEC at UF or fifth in the Sun Belt Conference during four seasons at Louisiana.

Florida football announced two high school signings and five transfer signings during February’s National Signing Day on Wednesday. Here’s a look at the new signees

Washington linebackers coach Robert Bala will coach UF’s inside linebackers and serve as a co-defensive coordinator, a program source confirmed. The source also confirmed Napier will hire Ben Elsner to serve as director of football strategy, a position second in the command to the program’s general manager — a post yet to be filled.

“It’s what got me here,” Napier said on maintaining play calling duties. “It’s how I became the head coach. It’s what’s helped us make progress and win in the past. I’m confident it will help us do that in the future.”

The Skinny: Wilson had 128 catches for 2,417 yards and 28 TDs in three seasons at Tampa Bay Tech. Andrew Ivins of 247 said Wilson has the “size, hands and speed to emerge as a true impact player for a College Football Playoff contender.”
