Last year's NFL draft was a banner year for offense. A record 14 offensive players went off the board to start the first round. UCLA edge rusher Laiatu Latu was the first defensive player drafted when the Indianapolis Colts selected him No. 15 overall. He was one of just nine defensive players drafted in the first round, a record low.

Production has not matched talent to this point, but Williams has top-five traits — not unlike former Georgia (and current Jacksonville) standout Travon Walker, who was the No. 1 pick in 2022. Williams is a projection as much as anything right now, but if he tests off the charts, he might not make it this far.

And now there’s a new No. 2 favorite. As of Tuesday morning, Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter is the second favorite at +180. Carter is the third-biggest liability at BetMGM at the moment behind Hunter and Ward.
