Disney and Fubo announced the closing of their deal merging Hulu + Live TV operations with Fubo, with Disney owning a 70% stake in the new company.

Disney and Fubo have come to an official agreement, announcing plans to merge the streamer’s business with Hulu + Live TV.
Channels owned by The Walt Disney Co., including ABC, ESPN, Disney Channel, Freeform and others will be pulled from the Google-owned pay-TV service at midnight ET after the two sides failed to come to terms on a new carriage agreement ahead of a midnight deadline.
After years of negotiation and co-ownership with AT&T and Comcast, Disney announced in 2023 it purchased a 33% stake in Hulu, LLC. held by Comcast’s NBC Universal — a move that resulted in a multi-billion dollar payout.
The announcement of the deal came as a surprise in January, as Fubo had previously sued Disney (along with Fox and Warner Bros.) over antitrust concerns related to Venu, the streamers’ proposed giant sports app.
