Officials with the Oklahoma County Detention Center on Saturday confirmed a woman inmate died the night before.

"Even then, when tens of thousands of tomorrows will have passed, this commitment by the people of Oklahoma City to stand against evil must endure," Mayor David Holt said.

"It was unbelievable for those of us who were here and there to comprehend that the devil himself walks the earth and murdered 168 of our neighbors and friends," Gov. Frank Keating said.
