A nice, clearly marked Brachiopod (Gigantoproductus) fossil which has eroded out of the limestone by weather over time. This creature had two shells connected by a hinge and existed about 330 million years ago when the Burren was beneath a shallow, tropical sea and positioned on the Earth just south of the Equator! *(Please remember that the Burren is a protected landscape and fossils should be left where found.) #burrennationalpark #burrenandcliffsgeopark #visittheburren | Burren National Park
