Today we celebrate the feast day of St. Blaise of Sebaste. St. Blaise was a physician and bishop in historical Armenia who is venerated as a Christian saint and martyr. He is the patron saint of sufferers from throat diseases. One of the Fourteen Holy Helpers, his emblems are an iron comb and a wax taper. St. Blaise, pray for us.
