@motioneasephysio on Instagram: "Two common ways the MCL can get injured: Clip 1) Indirect Force (e.g. from a shot) • Happens at a fast pace • Drives the knee into valgus (knocked-in knee position) Clip 2) Medially Directed Force • Direct force applied to the outside of the knee • Places high stress on the medial structures Both mechanisms are different, but each puts major stress on the medial knee compartment and result in an MCL injury."
