Over 2,400 years old, this clay figurine, commonly known as a dogū, is attributed to the Jōmon period of ancient Japan. It is made of fired clay (terracotta), and features large goggle-like eyes, short arms and legs, and a body decorated with the surikeshijōmon technique, and it has traces of red paint.
